i set out to find a shaded piece of the park where hopefully
the temperature would cool me down
i was anything but a walk in the park
yet a walk in the park
i found a promising piece
settled into a comfortable position
and took faster breaths as i lost my air of confidence
i wished i hadn’t found shade
i would’ve kept walking too
but midsummer heat was coming back for fall i would’ve kept walking
until everything taller than i am
was suddenly gone
everything that provides a shade to sit and talk to You
Adam is a current student at Emerson College and studies Visual Media Arts. He loves Vonnegut and good music, sad movies and soccer. He writes rap and poetry, and he enjoys shamelessly plugging his album “YFLR,” which can be found on bandcamp and soundcloud.
